Hanging Gardens Shoot – Earlier this year we were very fortunate to meet Nikki from Knots and Kisses and Helen Lisk Photography to discuss the opportunity of planning as shoot here at Maunsel House in Somerset. With a career in not only designing stationery but styling too we knew that Nikki would be the perfect person to help bring our ideas too life with a beautiful visionary concept like no other at Maunsel House.
Nikki’s theme, the Hanging Gardens was inspired by our beautiful garden pergola along with its existing florals. Nikki loved the idea of having most of the floral decorations for hanging rather than the traditional style flowers often seen at weddings. To enhance the hanging garden theme Nikki incorporated not only stunning hanging floral arrangements but also the interiors trend for hanging pop plants.
The theme followed on into ideas for hanging a ‘floating’ cake using our very own cake display in amongst our already stunning roses naturally growing in the pergola.
Colour inspiration was again influenced by interior trends introducing the terracotta colour into the traditional palette of blush and burgundy including roses, and warm berries in turn creating a colour scheme with more of an edge.
One of our favourite moments of the day was seeing our ceremony bandstand adorned with the fullest flower swag designed and created by Suzy and her team from Blooming Divine and Amy our model who in the most elegant beautiful bridal gowns and over-sized bouquet stole the show!
We would like to take this opportunity to thank every single one of the super talented suppliers who gathered here at Maunsel House and to Nikki for her inspiring concept, Helen for the most amazing photography and for Wed Magazine Devon for featuring this breath-taking shoot.
