In the past 12 months the word “Staycation” has become popular for all of us looking for a chance to get away without travelling due to the risk of COVID. Although a hard year, it has been a great opportunity to explore the Country we live in. Whether it be exploring your local area, or staying away and enjoying a new part of the country. With it usually being so easy to jet off on a plane rather than appreciate the hidden gems where we live, and despite things looking promising for holidays abroad later in the year, the newfound love for staycations will hopefully continue as we remember that a weekend here in the countryside can be just as enjoyable as a week on the beach!

At Maunsel House we have 5 luxury self-catering cottages, meaning we are open for business from the 12th April! Each of our quaint cottages have their own charm and sleep between 4 and 10 guests. It is the perfect place for a family to reside for a long weekend. With over 2000 acres of surrounding parkland to explore, and being situated less than a 5 minute walk from the canal, why not bring your bikes or hire a motorboat for the day? There is plenty to see and do right on your doorstep.

From the 17th May we get to open up the doors of our exquisite 13th century mansion for bed and breakfast again. Each room in the house tells its own story and each are charismatic in their own right. With grand décor and four poster beds in many rooms, you will feel like you’ve just walked into a scene in Bridgerton, and even if you escape for just the one night, it is the perfect treat! After a blissful nights sleep, you are woken up to a delicious home cooked English breakfast!
