In October we were thrilled to welcome Linda Grace to Maunsel House for a Beatrix Potter themed photo shoot. Linda is a wedding planner and the owner of Linda Grace Weddings, who specialises in intimate weddings. After relocating from Hampshire to Somerset Linda heard of Maunsel House through a number of friends and suppliers and wanted to take a look for herself. She instantly fell in love with the pictures on our website, Facebook and Twitter, and decided that this was the venue she wanted to help relaunch her business in the South West.
The theme was to be Beatrix Potter, inspired with lots of pastel shades, quintessentially English, ‘olde worlde’ and of course lots of prettiness!
Dinah Taylor provided the breathtaking flowers and has been our in house stylist for a number of years. Providing us with beautiful bouquets, divine decorations and inspiring ideas, her flowers ooze passion and personality, creating not just flower arrangements but reflecting memories, aspirations and cultures.
Becky Flynn who is another one of our trusted suppliers created a soft but striking look for model Lucy who was the acting bride on the day. The gently colours used by Becky slotted perfectly into the theme and she was effortlessly able to capture a timeless look.
Award winning stylist Louise Alway gave Lucy a very natural, dreamy look with loose waves in her hair, pinned back to expose the stunning make up look that Becky had created. Louise is an extremely talented hair stylist who can create individual hair styles that will compliment you and help you to achieve the look that you want. Paired with Tracy Rees from Once Upon A Time Tiaras, who specialise in beautiful tiaras and wedding jewellery that is lovingly designed and crafted, it was a match made in heaven and they helped to complete Lucy’s flawless look.
Lucy wore two very elegant and mesmerising dresses, one was from the Claire Pettibone Romantique Collection and the other was a Ti Adora dress. Linda found these at Susan Hinckley’s shop, Parham House Brides, which you can find in the historic town of Dunster, near Minehead. Both have very intricate, delicately detailed designs and were complimented by the backdrop of Maunsel House.

The cake that you can see in the photos was produced by Alison at Let’s Celebrate Cakes. To fit in with the theme, she created a simplistic 4 tier cake with a sophisticated thin layer of lace icing at the bottom of the cake. The exquisite detail in the handmade, pastel coloured flowers that sit just on top of the second layer is simply incredible.
Knots & Kisses provided us with beautifully designed place cards and table numbers that subtly stood out amongst the table dressing. As one of our recommended suppliers, Knots & Kisses can offer you gorgeous vintage inspired stationary for weddings, they offer a completely bespoke service so that no two weddings will be the same!
The photos were taken by Alistair Jones of Ideal Imaging, who in 2015 was named in the International Top 10 Wedding Photographers. He really is one of a kind and completely in love with what he does, which you can really see by his work. He spent hours perfecting the images and after taking over 500 photos, together with Linda, they managed to narrow it down to 202 (they simply couldn’t choose two more to get rid of!).
We couldn’t of had a better team. A huge thank you to Linda Grace for bringing her idea to life at Maunsel House. We can’t wait to work with you again!
